“After the First World War, she enlisted the first lady, Edith Galt Wilson, to urge her husband to include a woman among the American delegates to the 1919 Paris Peace Conference. President Wilson refused, but Nichols checked into a nearby hotel and sat in on all the meetings anyway.”
Now take that chutzpah and compare it to the feud going on between Demi/Taylor. These young women have their hearts in the right places, I’m sure, yet perhaps the road isn’t as defined as it was for Rose Standish Nichols. We don’t have a women’s league anymore, feminism has become an ugly word, and young girls gang up on each other at the first chance they get. This is why I feel it’s important to go see a little bit of history in every city or town I visit. You never know what impact it might have on your life. Even if it’s just looking at an online tiff and shaking your head. 🙂
And without further ado… more photos from the visit!
